POTATO DAYS, A KEY EVENT FOR THE WORLD POTATO PLANT MARKET

   Every year, Potato Days take place in the Netherlands in early November. The event takes place over three days, during which breeders showcase their new varieties to the general public. This event is an opportunity to meet the potato world from all continents. 

ELORN PLANTS is exhibiting its seed potato varieties and new products under the Bretagne Plants banner. 

 This year, the Bretagne Plants breeding station was present at Potato Days to present its varieties. Based in Hanvec since 1977, it creates new varieties of seed potatoes every year, which best meet the needs of the markets. ELORN PLANTS, LSA and SOLAWEST, collectors and representatives of the station's varieties, exhibited under the Bretagne Plants banner at the Stadspaleis OldRuitenborgh in Vollenhove.

 Among the novelties that allow ELORN PLANTS to diversify its market segments and destinations, Elegante, firm white flesh with very yellow flesh, a variety of beautiful productive presentation with an aptitude for long conservation.

Kalys is also an interesting variety on the panel as it has a very yellow flesh, with a dry matter content of 22%, suitable for home fries. This semi-early variety is suitable for the French and Southern European markets.

Sahara is an export type variety similar to Synergy. This white-fleshed variety is shorter in shape than Synergy, and has very good yields with 1 or 2 extra points of dry matter. 

 The Potato Days 2022 was a very good experience that we will gladly repeat, as we were able to meet many promising people in the years to come !
