2021 HARVESTS ARE PROGRESSING WELL!
The 2021 harvests started at the beginning of August and are progressing very well thanks to very favourable harvesting conditions. With a focus on exports, our company can count on its seed potato growers and their equipment to offer the quality and reactivity necessary for deliveries to early destinations such as West Africa and certain Middle Eastern countries.
Once harvested, seed potatoes are received in the storage buildings where they undergo a process of sorting, storage in paloxes and then re-drying. This stage, which lasts thirty days, consists of drying the batches of seed potatoes in order to heal them following any mechanical shocks they may have suffered during the harvest. The batches of seed potatoes are kept at a temperature of 12°C, then the temperature is gradually lowered to 6-8°C for batches that are shipped later.
The technical problems linked to the processing of the potato plant (sorting, storage, packaging) on the farms and the logistical problems require us to be highly responsive in order to deliver to our export customers at early destinations. An example of packaging below :
